Week 9: Google Timer Tech Tip

I did not know one could set timer on google. I usually set timer on my phone. This sometimes can become very distracting because setting timer on phone means, I have to keep it close to my desk and I get distracted and started going through text messages.

Today, I learned how to set timer on google. I thought it was pretty cool and I will end up using this tech tip.

Set time on Google.

Week 8, Tech Tip Poster

For this week's Tech tip, I decided to use the AutoMotivator to make motivational quotes. The website is self explanatory. To access AutoMotivator, click here.

Week 8, Reading Plan

I am so excited that one of the reading options is Amar Chitra Kadha (ACK). I enjoy reading these books. So I had to pick these as my options for the readings for next half of semester. Since I have already read a lot about Ramayana and Mahabharata, I am planning on taking a break and read the folktales section in Amar Chitra Kadha. I will be reading two books per week. If I run out of Folktales, I am planning on starting readings for Deva/Devi section of ACK. I am really excited for these readings and looking forward to read them. I am planning on finishing my readings the weekend before the week they are due.

Week 8, Reflection: Looking Forward

What really got me last half of this semester was not doing my readings and not working ahead of time. I missed several assignments and also missed out on many extra credit assignments. I wish instead of selecting a schedule of working on this class daily, I should finish whats due next week during that weekend. I believe that it will give me more time to focus on my other classes and also i will not miss anymore assignments. What i would really like to see an improvement is my writing skills and the sentence by sentence feed back given by the instructor really helped me to improve my introduction for storytelling and fix many grammatical errors. Even though I missed few assignments, I am still doing good on point wise, thank god for extra credit).

Week 8, Reflections: Looking back.

When I started this class, I was thinking that it will be an easy class. However, I put most amount of time in to this class than my other science classes. There are few reasons for that and number one reason is that, this class requires one to read a lot and write. Writing has never been my cup of tea and I always make so many mistakes and am not very good at it. Secondly, I enjoy this class and like spending my time doing class works for this class. My favorite reading has been PDE: Ramayana because it showed me how people change even when they thought they were in deep love where no one can separate them. I have couple of my friends who are also taking this class with me, they make it really interesting. In addition, I also got to meet new people thought this class and read a bit about them. I usually do my work for this class day by day, I figured out that it is not always the best way to do it. So I am planning on changing it up and planning on finishing assignments for next week in the weekend before it is due. I usually do my Epics of India class work when I am at the library. I also like how this class not only offers knowledge about class work, but also many tips that I can actually use in real world. For example, after doing tech tips, I have learned how to create a google website, blog and many other things. After reading growth mindset, I have come up with a challenge that will help me get better and organize my hectic life. Since this class requires a lot of writing, I feel like, I am actually going to improve my writing skills. Especially when I wrote up the introduction, the feedback I received pointed out mistakes I have made in each sentence, which definitely helps someone like me who is introduced to English as second language. One of the story telling I am most proud of is my first story telling post. Even though, the quality of writing is not that great, I felt like I could be more creative in that storytelling. Here is a link to my first story telling. Throughout the coming weeks, I can’t wait to see what this class has to offer me.

Week 7 Review

" The beautiful part of wiring is that you don't have to get it right the first time, unlike, say a brain surgeon" - Robert Cormier. This quote was my favorite part of this week's announcement because it is so true. We always get to revise and edit our writings to make it close to perfect.  We can learn from mistakes and take in others feedback and make our writing better and improve. Week 7: Reading Feedback

I decided to do pick the PDE Mahabharata this week because it was very easy to access. I didn’t have to buy anything since it was already free and didn’t have to go to library to get the book. The book in library reserve is actually pretty great; however you can only keep them for three hours, so I have to be on campus just for the access of these books. In addition, the online PDE Mahabharata was pretty easy to read. The introduction helps in understanding the text.I spent at least an hour on reading. However, sometimes if I have more time, I will go re- read some materials which I find really interesting.
